I think that we have finally found a church home :o) Hubby and I both liked it right off the bat and the kids LOVED it... and they actually LEARNED a lesson about God and REMEMBERED it!!!! Of course the drive SUCKS, but that is ok :o) we are happy and that is all that matters. Here is the link to the church for anyone interested. Our youngest daughter likes it just fine, but our baby boy is having a hard time adjusting. He does not like people and especially does not like strangers, so leaving him is pretty much impossible. I ended up staying with him this last Sunday and really enjoyed it. At our church in Houston I ran the baby room, it was my room, I took care of everything in it and loved it. The toddler room is a little more active and not quite what I like but I enjoyed being there with my baby as he got used to the other ppl and the kids. Everything about the church is awesome.
The Dr's did a biopsy on my grandma and want to do another one, they want to do a full masectomy on her and treat her with chemo. She has said no to both, but it seems that she is having second thoughts about the masectomy, she is actually considering it. Which excites me and worries me at the same time. The fact that she is considering to fight the cancer is awesome, and her going in for surgery scares me.
My best friends pregnancy is going great... she is feeling all the wonderful symptoms of morning, noon and night sickness, she goes to the doctor again in a few weeks to have her first ultrasound, and the due date is Oct 15th at the moment. She is still being pretty pessimistic about it, but I am hopng that will change as she passes her first trimester. I talked to my cousin that is pregnant and she is having a girl, the name she has picked is Marissa Ann. She is due sometime in May. Other than that things are pretty quiet, hubby is still working hard on his own business, and has been working hard out at my dads store, so he is keeping himself busy as he looks for a job.

Yesterday was a very long day for me. I went to my parents store and worked all day and then came home and hurried out the door once again for the Little Angels of Korea performance that was at UMSL last night. It was amazing. The girls that do those dances are incredible. It was almost 2 hours, they did all korean folk dances in traditional korean outfits. They were absolutely beautiful. My hubby went with my parents and I and he loved it too. I did not know what to expect and my hubby had no clue whatsoever but in the end he loved it too. Unfortunately we could not take pictures or video tape it. My mom does the fan dances and loved to see it being done by the girls and of course all the other ones that she saw when she was a kid.
Well, my grandma finally went to the surgeon yesterday and it turns out that it is stage 2 cancer, it is the size of a tangerine and if she does absolutely nothing about it we are only looking at a year left with her. Of course the surgeon suggested surgery, she declined that as we all knew she was going to do, she has to see an oncologist still about treatments that she might be willing to do (which I do not think that there are any that she is willing to do) It is a slow growing cancer, they did do a biopsy yesterday so we should know the results in a week or so. Grandma seems to be fine with everything. She has already accepted what will happen and will just continue to live her life like she always has. We are not even sure if she will go to the oncologist, she has said that she does not want to spend the rest of her life getting poked and prodded by doctors, does not want anyone telling her what she should be doing about it. She feels that she has lived her life and is ok with what happens to her. I love her and respect her for what she has decided to do.
In other news, good news, my best friend is pregnant, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND my other best friends wife is ALSO pregnant!!!!!!! I found out about my 2 best friends just a day a part and have to say that I am so VERY excited about it!! I think that they are both due right around the same time too (in October) I AM SO VERY EXCITED!!!!!! I cannot wait!! I am catching baby fever really quick, and I am NOT having a baby :o) Congrats to both of you, I am so happy for you guys!!!

Some of you know my love for panda bears.... well, I ran across this story at MSNBC.com and thought it was too cute to pass up... a san diego born panda, Hua Mei, is in China to see if she can find a mate... how sweet!!! I love pandas, they are the most beautiful animals, so cute, so cuddly, and adorable... they just LOOK so HUGGABLE!!! :o) Anyways, I thought it was a cute Valentine story for the weekend. I still have not seen pandas, and would LOVE to. We tried for a weekend trip to Memphis, TN to see them and have not been able to work it out yet. My hubby went to the DC zoo to see them for me and took a whole role of pics of them for me, of course I appreciate it a ton, but it was not the same :o) Anyways, cute story that I had to share....
I also read an interesting story about a 15 yr old that was in Guantanamo Bay Cuba being held prisoner cause he was thought to be Taliban.... part of the story is harsh, since he was questioned about being a part of the Taliban then he goes on to say how much he thought the prison in Cuba was like a "tropical boarding school" he learned to read and do math.... to live somewhere where there was electricity and air conditioning. I find it so very amazing what we take for granted every day. I could not imagine living in the heat that they have with NO air conditioning or electricity... I am sure that there were some hard times for them before they went to Cuba and I am sure that it was horrible being away from your family and not being able to communicate with them. It had to be horrible for the family to not to know where their son was.
Yesterday afternoon my hubby calls me and says my dad needs help out at the store and it could be a long night... my mom is willing to come watch the kids while I labor up at the office.... being the sucker that I am and wanting to help my dad out, I went up to the store and helped out....I was there from 6 til midnight... we worked our butts off! It was great :o) I have to say that I enjoy doing the work, I enjoy helping my dad out with the store and enjoy being around others. What we did turned out great and managed to get everything else caught up too. There are defienetely times that I wish I had a job, being out with people, enjoying lunches with associates, I love my children and LOVE being home with them... but there are those few moments when my children are driving me nuts that I wish I were anywhere but here :o) I have worked many places and I have to say that I LOVED debt collecting, I did that in OK for a while (before the place went bankrupt bcuz our founder was a scammer) I also did debt collecting in TX, both times I did a great job at what I did, the things I heard coming out of people's mouths was unbelievable... I was proposed to one more than one occasion, one guy wanted to go to Hawaii with me (he hung up on me when I told him I did not go anywhere with someone that did not pay their bills) I have been called every bad word in the book and a few originals ones that make you blush :o) But overall I LOVED it...when I first started I took it personally after about a week, I learned that it is not ME they did not like but their debt... and then it became FUN :o) Then I was a church secretary... for some of you I am sure that it is hard to see me as a church secretary, but that was an awesome job, I LOVED the guys I worked for, they were the best bunch of down to earth guys that were a riot to work with. It was great to see our church grow and prosper while I was there. We went from about 1000 people to about 3000 in the time that I was there. Of course I had to learn a LOT of names and learn a lot about the people that went to our church... everyone knew who I was and if I did not know them it was insulting, so I had to become REALLY good at recognizing people and knowing their names, their families names and a little something about them... which is really hard for me because for the most part I could care less :o) But overall it was the best job I had and the most close knit bunch of ppl that I have ever worked with and of course now we do not live in TX and I have not been able to see our church built (we were meeting in a school while we got everything together to build our church) how our plans had turned out, how the baby room (which I ran and helped design the area for) turned out and so many other things...how I miss it... We will go back one day that is for sure!! :o)

The other day my mom and I decided to change places and my mom come and take care of my kids and I went to the store.... I had a great time. I really enjoyed learning more about my parents store and to be able to work was GREAT!! My mom on the other hand... I think she got more than she bargained for :o) She thinks that my job is easy... she learned that it is NOT as easy as she thinks :o) I think that we are going to try and do this at least once a week though. It would be good for her to get away and for me to get away... I think that my dad enjoyed it too... a day with no arguing with my mom :o)

I am still working on the Patricia Cornwell, Kay Scarpetta series... There are a lot of books in the series and I have managed to get through PostMortem, Body of Evidence, All that Remains and am working on Cruel and Unusual. I have really enjoyed all of them so far. I have been tempted to stray to another author, just because her books are all murder mystery with all the same charcters and there are other books that I want to read but so dar I have really enjoyed the Cruel and Unusual. All that Remains was a little harder to get through... it was good, just slow in parts. A little too predicatable. But it is something to read. :o) There are a lot more in the series, one thing that I love to see in the books is the change in technology the later in years I get... they started off in 1990 and to see how much it has already advanced is kind of cool. There are 8 more books, so far, in the series... from what I hear from ppl that have read the whole series, it gets a little more gruesome the further along you go.... I am excited to see how the series ends (if it ever does) And to get on with others, including the Bio of Barbara Bush (thanks to my grandma who has the book and let me borrow it) So many books so little time...

I have added a new link to my blogroll. It is my friend Bean... welcome to the blog world, Bean!!!

My weekend was a good one. Friday night I went to happy hour with my mom and a few other ppl and then I met a couple of girlfriends for dinner and a trip to Barnes and Noble... I LOVE that store... I could spend hours and hours in there!! I did find my hubbies birthday present... so that is an awesome thing!! I bought him a computer book and a really cool book on the Civil War. The rest of the weekend was great. Managed to get my house cleaned and of course watched the Probowl on Sunday. It was a slow game to begin with... but really turned into a great game the second half. Marc Bulger was the MVP of the game... congrats to you!! GOTTA LOVE THE RAMS!!!! He did an excellent job on bringing back the NFC and broke a probowl record. Peyton Manning did a great job too... but Bulger is awesome!!

My MIL called the other day and told us granny was in the hospital (my hubbies grandma) she had pneumonia and a bladder infection. She will be 92 on Thursday. She is an awesome woman. It seems that every time she is in the hospital she does not bounce back as well... she is slowly going downhill and it breaks our hearts. Granny did come home today... so that is a plus. She is still on meds but is happy to be home. My MIL is going through a really tough time right now with granny being sick and her hubbies daughter is having a rough time... she had both of her daughters taken away... the older one went to CA and married her boyfriend and the younger one is special needs and is only 5. My MIL and her hubby have custody of her right now and are trying to decide what they are going to do. It is not starting out to be a very good year....

I talked to my grandma the other night and we had a great conversation on just about everything. It was great to just talk to her and hear her point of view.... since the election was the other day we talked about that and of course we voted for Bush, but they (my grandparents) voted for Gephardt. They knew that they threw their vote away but they could not help but back the person that they have backed for the longest time. Congrats to them for sticking with what they believe in. Of course she is always amazed by the fact that I back Bush. But she pretty much lets me be when it comes to what I want and believe. We also talked about some of the presidents wives and how great some of them were (excluding Hillary Clinton)
I heard about the MA thing on allowing same sex marriages... and I have to say that I do not agree with it. I think that it is not what marriage is about. What they are doing is wrong to begin with and to allow them to marry says that it is ok with what they are doing. For the most part I believe that marriage is a religious thing and the fact that they are gay is in no way religious. I do not have problems with gays, as i have stated several times. I can understand both sides, I just disagree with it.
Yesterday I had an interesting experience with a person that lives in Europe. I was playing canasata with a few ppl that are from the US and then there was this person from Europe... he was saying that he would love to come to the US but not as long as that man was in charge... so I inquired as to who he was talking about and of course he was talking about Bush... I asked him what problem he had with Bush and he said that he did not understand why we backed a president that LIED to us and to the whole world... So I inquired about that too... what lies?? He said about Iraq, that we should not have gone in there and done what we did, that Bush lied to us... I said as far as I see it, what Bush did was a great service not only to Iraq but to all the world and heard no lies about what he said he was going to do. Then he got pissy about the fact that since some countries are not backing the war they were not allowed to bid in the rebuilding of the Iraq.. I said why should they be?? So all the other countries of the world can continue to MOOCH off our country and not do anything in return??? Why should they be allowed to help?? The other countries were against the war so why should they even WANT to be helping with the rebuild... because it is all about the almighty $$$$... thats it... He did not like my response and said so I guess you back Tony Blair too... I said YEP. He is a good man with his heart in the right place. At that the guy left in the middle of our game... I know politics should not be in conversation.. but when someone else brings it up, how could I resist???? Oh well.. another person that hates the US... what else is new??

If you had a whole day to yourself, alone, and you wanted to treat yourself, what would you do?
get pampered at a spa again... sleep.... just relax :o)

If you had an extra $200 that you didn't need to spend on bills or debt, what would you buy with it?: (And no "saving it", you gotta spend it)
oh... easy... SCRAPBOOKING stuff... and some books :o)
Wow... Kerry won in 5 states. He won in Missouri I personally do not like him or any of the candidates. I have heard that if he makes it Edwards is going to be there for his VP. I REALLY do NOT like that idea at all. The 2 of them together is a HUGE mistake. I do not like either of them... but I really dislike Edwards. Oh, well... we will see what happens. The school tax passed... thank goodness! Deanna gets to keep her job :o) congrats to you on that win.
Hubby has his interview with Maritz today. I am really excited for him. He is also doing great at his own business stuff. He has been talking to some friends about different potential things and it is all looking positive. He has had several ppl call him about different work things. He is still working with my dad on his business and has been enjoying it. Too bad my dad cannot afford to keep him around :o) He has almost got a deal worked out with one of the ladies he is talking to, they are going to exchange services... she is opening a gymnastic/cheerleading thing and she has agreed to train my older daughter and my hubby will build her a website... I cannot imagine having a cheerleader daughter, but I will do it for her if it makes her happy :o) I have no idea where she gets this crap from... certainly NOT me. Oh well... I guess she can be girly :o) It will be interesting to see how she does... she is already as tall as her brother (not that that was hard to accomplish since he is short) but she is all legs and torso... she is a tall girl and NOT graceful... maybe this will help her learn to not be a klutz :o)

The Superbowl was great. I loved the pregame and the game was ok. There were some definite slow times during the game. Congrats to the Patriots... though I did not want them to win :o) We made some burgers and had a great time anyways. The half time show was stupid, in my opinion. I did not care for the ppl that were singing and the whole Janet Jackson boobie thing was stupid. Who cares... it was a boob... everyone has seen one. Granted not something that little kids should have seen.
I have been keeping busy with the kiddos... I cannot wait for SPRING!!!! Well, today is the vote for the Presidential candidate. I have to say that they all suck and I do not like any of them. Too bad we just cannot put another Republican candidate in there. Oh, well. My Uncle leaves for MY today. He really loves it here and is thinking about moving here. Which would be cool.
I know I have metioned the Myspace.com thing before, but I have had a chance to be on there a bit and it is a really strange place!! There are lots and lots of strange ppl on there. Some a little more strange then others. I have met a few cool ppl though. I am not there to meet guys that is for sure, but I have met a really cool gal that lives in IL. We share some of the same interests and have been talking. Of ocurse my hubby says that everyone is fake on the internet and that everyone is out to kill me.... :o) So I guess I better watch myself :o)
Everyone go check out DOg Snot Diaries... Geoff has moved and has added his brother Jonathan and Gordon to the site so that they can post together. It is a cool idea. Way to go guys... (even though there is a stinky DEMOCRAT on there)

Today is the superbowl and also the anniversary for the space shuttle tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are still with the families that lost their loved ones in that accident. It was a heartbreaking event and it touched us in many many ways. We have lots of close friends that were working that shuttle mission and who were hurt deeply by what happened... we love you all and miss you guys!!! It was a tough thing for my hubby too. He knew a couple of the ppl on that flight and worked closely with a lot of ppl at NASA while he was there. It was hard for him to not be there to mourn with all of our friends.
I am excited about todays game. I am rooting for the Panthers. I want the underdog to win :o) Of course the pregame and the halftime show and the commercials should be great... MR TOBY KEITH will be performing!! WHOO HOOO!!!! That is ONE HOT MAN!!!! He is just AWESOME!! Gotta love him :o) I am so excited!!!
My uncle (not really, he is a cousin) is in town from NY and has been enjoying St.Louis. He is even thinking about moving down here. He likes the area and it is so much cheaper than NY. My other aunt and uncle from KC came to to visit also. They were going to take uncle back with them but he decided that he did not want to travel anywhere else and is staying with my grandma. My mom is showing him around the area and is going to take him to the arch and of course they have been out shopping :o) We had dinner with them all the other night and it was great. I really enjoyed meeting him and seeing my other aunt and uncle that I have not seen in at least 5 years.
Yesterday was a day for me... it was AWESOME!! I went out with my mom, uncle and grandma in the morning... had to get stuff from Sam's and stopped by the Korean grocery store so that my mom and grandma can make some more Korean meals. Then after I got back with them I went over to my friend Bean's house with Leah. We had a great time just sitting there and talking. I got hungry so we all went to IHOP for some pancakes :o) Then sat around and talked some more... we could probably sit and talk all weekend long. It is amazing to see that we have managed to just pick up and start where we left off with our friendship... like the years were never there. Bean is a great person with a great personality. She has gone through a lot in the last couple of years... but to me she is the same ole bean :o) I am hoping that she will be able to find some time and blog with me. After I left there I got my brother and went to my grandparents for a visit. I love being with them, I love to spend time with them and to hear stories of their past. My grandpa was looking through some of his old stuff and found a baseball and softball and gave my brother and I each one. They are from when he was a kid and went to games with his dad. I still remember the games that my grandpa and I went to. It was just the 2 of us on HOT summer days in the middle of the week at Bush stadium takin in a game and then going to Ted Drew's for some ice cream. I have so many treasured moments of my grandparents.. it is so awesome. Being the only grandchild that spends time with them now is also so important to me and to them. I am still the only grandchild that goes over to just visit with them. The others do it when they are with their parents or when there is a holiday... but NONE of them go out of their way to just spend time with them... to just sit and talk to them. They are the most fascinating people. We share a lot of the same values and thoughts when it comes to religion. We differ when it comes to politics but I am ok with that and they are ok with me being a republican. (I think they are holding out hope that I will switch over) Anyways... it is just awesome and it never ceases to amaze me on how wonderful they are. I love them so very much... Ok, I am done. I am going to finish cleaning my house before ppl get here for tonites game and get my kids under control!! Everyone enjoy the game!!! GO PANTHERS!!!
