Things have been relatively quiet around here. The Rams won on Sunday and the Eagles lost so we got the Bye week... which is absolutely wonderful. Grant Wistrom had 2.5 sacks on the game on Sunday... which is AWESOME and Bulger only threw one interception and we turned around and got one on them not too long after they got the one on us so no harm done :o) Our team held it together really well this week, I was extremely impressed!!! Both offense and defense managed to hold it together and of course there is the ever important Jeff Wilkins on special teams who is one of the best kickers!!! he is 3 away from breaking a record, which I doubt he will get to do since there is only one game left in the regular season, which is against the Detroit Lions, so that should be a gimme.... (sorry Jeff!! :o) Your hockey team is great... your football team on the other hand.... well, they suck) If the Rams win that game and the Eagles lose then we get home field advantage, which is AWESOME!! We have not lost any games at home since Sep. of last yr... 14 home games won.... that is GREAT :o)
I have been thinking about a conversation that I had with my grandparents... it was political, and I know I am far off from knowing a lot about politics, I know that everyone has an opinion. I want to know why we cannot concentrate on this country.... I know what Bush did in Iraq was a wonderful thing, and I know that there are a lot of other countries out there that need help... that is all fine and good and I think that they should be grateful for the help that we have given them...BUT on another note... our medical system needs a major overhaul, our kids need to be taken off the street, we need to feed the people in our own country and take care of what is going on here, take care of our vets, our elderly, our social services departments, our schools, etc, etc, etc... my grandpa called it Isolationism. He says that if we have it to give that we are required to help, when another country is in trouble.... my question in return was when has any other country ever helped us?? There have been times that our country has needed the help... namely the great depression.. both my grandparents lived through it. Was there any country that stepped up to help us through that time?? My grandpa's answer to that was Europe had also gone through a really rough time and could not help us at the time. Ok fine... we are to be the saviors of EVERY other freakin country and get NOTHING but hatred in return.... why not tell them to help themselves since they hate us so dang much and see how they like that. See how well they can survive then. True, we are not starving like North Korea is... but that is to be blamed on their gov't for taking the food away from the people and tending to their army. SO for once why do we say no to these other people and worry about ourselves? OUr school systems SUCK, our medical needs to be revised and taken care and on and on and on.... I think that medicaid, and food stamps and other stuff need to be looked at again too... There are WAY too many people taking advantage of that system. What is sooo wrong with people going out and getting JOBS??? It is time to make these LAZY people get off their ever loving, WIDENING BUTTS and GET JOBS!! So, it is not a glamourous job... it is still a job and you should DO IT.... I have to admit that yes, I have used the medicaid before, I was 17, pregnant and had no insurance, but I can guarantee that I have paid that back in full and then some!!! It is not there to be abused, it is there for people that need the OCCASIONAL break... what is wrong with people?? Why can't these people feel some self worth and actually DO SOMETHING?? People like that need to be taken off of the welfare system and told to do it on their own and if you fall you fall, pick yourself back up and MOVE on. Ok, sorry.... got a little off subject :o) Just one of those touchy subjects that always gets to me :o)
Anyways... is being an Isolationist so bad?? My grandpa thought that it was a bad idea, and I guess I see his point... but on the other hand... it seems that every other country hates us, they hate what we do but they sure as heck know how to hold out their hands to take from us.. NO APPRECIATION... what is that all about??? Why are we such the bad guy?? Why is it we help them and they still scream hateful things? If someone can give me a valid answer to that I would greatly appreciate it... :o)
On to other things... to my friends and family in CA... my thoughts and prayers are with you after the big earthquake that has hit you guys...
