I have not done a book review lately... so I guess now would be as good a time as any. I go through my spurts of reading and not reading and really I did not have a lot of time to read in Novemeber and December because of the holiday and the other projects I was workin on... so here are the ones I remember that I have read or getting ready to read.
I read Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. I have to say I REALLY REALLY like him. The book was incredible and was rarely a dull moment. I find the Masonic refrences interesting in the book too.
I also have read Blue Dahlia by Nora Roberts. I thought it was OK. I normally pass on the "romance" novels cuz they just dont hold my attention and this is one of them. I normally really like Nora but it was just flat in some areas, and I think the fact that I could care less about flowers and gardening did not help that fact. I dont care what they are called, I dont pay any attention to that sort of stuff. I go buy my flowers, have hubby plant em and am done with the whole situation, I dont care about cross breeding flowers or any other lil fact that has to do with em. Oh, well. Not the best Nora Roberts but was something to read :o)
I am in the process of reading Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper-Case Closed by Patricia Cornwell. I tend to be a little bit slower when it comes to things like this. I am about half way through with the book and while she makes good points about the case, I am not sure that I am completely convinced that Walter Sickert is the one that did it. I am just doubtful that after all these years that we will ever know the true identity of someone so gruesome. But, it has been an intersting read.
Another something that I have been taking my time on is Leonardo daVinci: The Complete Paintings by Frank Zollner. I have an absolute fascanation with his work. I tend to go through spurts when I want to see all his work and research the man. So I am starting a collection of his work in books. Another one I want on him is this called The Complete Paintings and Drawings. It will be a future purchase but something that I really want. I have really enjoyed the one that I have though.
The one I have just started is called The Other Daughter by Linda Gardner I have not gotten far into it, so it will be a while before I write about it. Not sure if it is something I like or not.
I also have The Broker by John Grisham. One that I have not started yet but in the waiting :o)
I have read a few others by Nora Roberts that have been shorts. Nothing really memorable but was something to read by one of my favorite authors.
