OK, so its been a really long time since I posted. A lot has happened since Christmas and I am still in a daze that I cannot get out of it seems. I will give a readers digest account on our lives the past month. We all had the tummy bug of throwing up and diarrehea the week before Christmas, we all got better except for my daughter Victoria. We had a great Christmas here at home and then went to my aunts to spend the rest of it there. All went wonderfully, other than a sick daughter. On the 27th we took our kiddo to the urgent care who then sent us to the hospital. We get there a surgeon follows us to her room does a check up on her as we are walkin in, she has a perforated appy (ruptured appendix to most of us). Emergency surgery that day then a week later another surgery to remove an abcess the size of a grapefruit. After 12 days of this we go home. She starts bleeding from her incision, another trip to the hospital and is sent home. One week checkup, they readmit her and start her on antibiotics again. What is supposed to be 2 days in the hospital turns into 4 and this time they decide they want to put in a more permanent IV called a PIC line that she can have up to 6 months. She will not need hers that long but will have it for a couple of weeks at least. They sedate her for the PIC procedure, she throws up and all seems to be ok. We finally bring her home on the 20th, the day before her birthday, and all seems ok. I have become a nurse it seems through this process and have been giving my daughter her IV antibiotics. Which is quite a process. Then on Sunday, she starts running a temp considered too high by her surgeon so we take her BACK to the ER. They do blood work and send her home. Then finally yesterday they did yet another CT scan to see whats up. Grape sized abcess with a few other little abcesses and they change her antibiotics and we are home yet again. So, 2 surgeries, 7 IVs, 1 PIC line and almost one month later and I have my daughter home and still not back to herself. I managed to have my anniversary at the hospital, spend new years eve sleeping next to my daughter in the hospital and got my daughter home the day before her birthday. The year ended on a shitty note and started on a shitty note... Now all I want is my daughter back to herself.
My mother in law and my sister in law I adore have come to lend a helping hand. My husbands cousin is coming this weekend to spend some time with us. Along with all my family that has been a godsend. My girl was never left in the hospital by herself at night. OK, I have to get back to getting my life back in order.
