Things are starting to fall more into a regular routine around here. There are still a few glitches here and there but I am really loving just having the one at home. The other kids are adjusting to school and seem to be doing better. My oldest has a few good and bad days but we are getting him into the doctor to get him tested for a bunch of things. I think we knew it all along and just ignored it since he was home with me and really was only disrupting me but now that he is in a classroom setting we really need it to be under control. I have spent many tears on him and am ready to take whatever necessary action I need to to help him. There have been a few times that I have really just wanted to throw in the towel and wish that I could hand him over to someone else but I know in the long run he is much better off with me than with anyone else. I am so very thankful to my hubby who has been there every step of the way. For every school visit we have had, for every tear I have cried, for every frustration that he has felt he has been there for it all. He takes off work to go to the school meetings, he has been the shoulder that I have cried on and has been the strength to make me go on and not give up. I have to say for a man that did not make this child he has cared more about him than any biological parent ever could. I take that for granted a lot and really appreciate all that he has done for us and could not ask for a better father and dad for my kiddo.
It really has been a very rough road with him and I am sure a lot of it is genetics. But I am willing to get him the help that he needs so that it does not go any further and so that he turns into a good person. He really is very sweet natured and a really good kid. He makes some bad choices but we are working on that and hope that once we figure out what kind of help he needs it will all be under control and we can have our happy family back to normal.
In other news, my grandma's 82nd birthday was yesterday and we celebrated with her last night as well. It was wonderful to have so much family over there and to be with her. My cousin and her hubby and little one were there also. They are going to go to my brothers football game with us on Friday night, which I think will be awesome. My brother will have his own personal cheering section! :o)
My daughters will be doing poms on the 13th and then the following Friday will be doing their cheerleading. They are really excited about both. The 13th they will be doing the poms for my brother, who is really excited about that and then on the 20th we will go and do their cheerleading and then head over to my brothers football game since it is at another school. Same school district but different high schools.
I have also recently been in contact with a friend of mine from high school who I have not talked to in several years. It is great to be talking to her again and hopefully we will be able to meet up when she comes into town in November. She was a good friend in high school and I look forward to seeing her again.
Now to get house work done *sigh*
